1:25am
I woke up to the sound of an idle motor; at least I thought it was a motor.  It sounded like it was in my room, on my bed.  Slowly I opened my eyes and blinked a few times.  There was a large black fuzzy object near my chest; it was the source of the horrible motor sound.

“Ajax, get off the bed”

The cat didn’t move, he pretended like he didn’t hear.  I swatted at him with my pillow, but he just swatted back.  Somehow during the attempt to shoo him off the bed he managed to lie down on my chest and begin his ragged purr motor again.  I squirmed around, trying to throw him off.  But he just dug in deep with his claws, eyes never opening.  I screamed and then cursed, the cat didn’t care.

“That’s it!!”

Before he had a chance to react I picked up Ajax, and tossed him off the side of the bed.  Part of me felt guilty for throwing him, but cats always land on their feet right?  I heard his claws clank against the hardwood floor as he left the room.  Finally, I could get back to sleep.

3:09am

I was suffocating.  My body forced me to wake, but even awake all I could see was darkness. I bolted up and rubbed my hands across my face, trying to get a breath.  I felt warm fur.  In my head I cursed the cat and with my hands I ripped it off my face and threw it.  I didn’t care where it landed. Gasping for breathe I sat in the bed, sweat trickling across my face.  I grabbed a tissue and wiped it off, the tissue was red.

“You little shit!  If you come near me again tonight, you’re dead!”

5:00am

I was on a beautiful beach.  The summer breeze cooled my skin and the warm sand squished beneath my toes.  I was walking towards a mysterious man wearing nothing but a smile, when I stepped on something sharp and painful.  I woke up and looked at my feet.  That little black demon fur ball was chewing on my toes; he looked up at me and then went back to my toes.  Once again my screams filled the room, but he did not stop. I took my alarm clock and threw it at him, it missed and his motor began again.

“You’re fucking enjoying this aren’t you?  Let’s see how you enjoy a little trip!”

I threw the covers off and leaped out of the bed; he had jumped to the floor and sat there waiting.  I grabbed him and stormed out of the room, through the living room and into the dining room where the balcony was.  The door was unlocked, not a much fear of burglary on the sixth floor of an apartment building.  I slid open the door and moved to the railing.

“I warned you…”

As I started to drop him over the side, he sunk his claws into my arm and climbed up my shoulders.  I tried to pull him off, but he kept scratching at my hands and my face.  I couldn’t see him through the fury of paws.  I tried to move back towards the sliding door, but I wasn’t sure exactly which way that was anymore.  After awhile my face became wet and stung everywhere.  No matter how hard I tried I could not dislodge him from my shoulder and my face.  In one desperate attempt to stop the scratching, I stumbled my way over to the railing again and leaned over.  I tried to shake him loose, but he just fought more.  He bit my ear, causing my hands to release the rail in response.  It happened so fast.  I felt myself tumble over the balcony and Ajax jump off my shoulder.  As I fell I realized he had known exactly what he was doing.

“Little bastard…”

Further proof that some cats are evil...

Just a little speed writing, nothing that great. My friends suggested the topic...hee

I love the twist ending, I think most cats have a hidden agenda, he he.

This is good for a piece of speed writing, the format works well; it progresses nicely, with the time getting later and the actions becoming more intense. Very cool.
